My Dad works for a very large company that makes circuit breakers and electrical switches. I think that their first product using computer stuff was being developed two years ago, 'cause we talked a bit back then about microcontroller issues. Anyway, one of their large customers called in a panic and demanded an engineer on site in case anything went wrong.
And my Dad volunteered.
And I was thinking "what sort of loon are you? Why didn't you reassure them..."
until he said that it involved going down to the Bahamas early to thoroughly check the site and make sure that none of their hardware was giong to cause this large resort problems due to Y2K issues.
I think there's a lot I could learn from him...
