November 2006, I volunteered for what should have been an easy two or three day "build a real e-commerce site for the NSS".. July 2007, the National Speleological Society Bookstore is finally on a real server (aSmallOrange.com) with a proper SSL certificate and proper e-commerce..
And I'm never volunteering web-work for another good deed for a good cause again. Period. Ever.. Ever! Well, until next time anyway.
I need to plug: RapidSSL.com for SSL Certificates as well as ASO Good Cheap Web Hosting.
and I have nothing nice to say about 1and1, where is was hosted.

Meuon: the link to aSmallOrange.com is fubar.
They look like a pretty sweet deal. I've been quite happy with BlueHost and they've been openning up more capabilities in the basic account (like unlimited domains). Of course, they are still Mitt Romney's buddies and have a stated "thing against porn of any kind" even though they wear special underwear. But that doesn't bother me because I like the fact that my server isn't getting bogged down with n0d3 p!x 0f S@ndra Bu110x.

I think I've fixed the ASO link. We use them for DigitalFish and I've been mostly happy with them, they seem like an "on it" small ISP.

And on "good deeds for a cause", I think I have everyone in my life now understanding that there is no such thing as a "free computer".
