Reading through the web pages and the Festool Owner's Group thread on the topic, maybe it's not as difficult as I thought. A simple version might start with making a form, fitting a veneer shell over the form, removing the shell and laying down a layer of resin, replacing the shell over the wet resin, and then doing a fiberglass layer on the outside of the veneer shell.
