Yeah, I've had two epiphanies recently. The first was evaluating a whole bunch of paper/label/whatever cutting devices that were shoe-ins for plugging in to a computer, but the more compelling of them were stand-alone. The second was talking with Charlene this morning about making some better TouchMath cards, some of which might actually involve microcontrollers, and I thought about implementing a laptop or desktop computer version, and I realized once again that the form factor of computing as we use it these days is so profoundly isolating that that was a distinctly bad idea.
More smart devices in the real environment, less trying to build environments on devices.

The other side I'm seeing is -serious- business applications going web-centric. Especially as medium-big corporations with people in many locations need access to information, HR systems, training, production info.. It used to be: Display this on the "intranet", now it's: Why have two systems? make it WORK on the 'net.
