Another get-together

We'll be doing this regularly (and I think we're going to try to do a big one on Labor Day): Another get-together at Charlene and Dan's, this Sunday, May 25th, 3-9. We'll provide a bunch of snacks and drinks, but we're calling it a pot-luck, mostly because Dan can't be trusted to run the grill rather than socialize, so bring something to share, although, as always, it's more important that you show up than that you bring anything, I'm sure there'll be extra food, and conversation counts.

And bring friends.

Always amazes me to see you invite as many people as read this blog to your house for parties. Very cool. Do you get a lot of new friends showing up?

I figure there are probably 750 people who read this blog at least once a week (it's been a long time since I tried to do analytics on my logs, I think that number has been as high as 1,500, but I know we're off from the peak), and I don't think I've had someone I hadn't already met in another context show up for a random party yet.

That other context has sometimes been related to Flutterby, but usually it's a smaller gathering.

Usually I end up meeting people in some other context first, but the geographic distribution of readers seems pretty random, there may be a few more readers in the SF Bay area, but that's offset by a cluster in the Chattanooga/Atlanta area, and if you start running the numbers down that probably works out to at most 10 extra people would possibly show up for a party here. We'll probably have that many people we've only met once from the neighborhood alone.

So, you comin'?

While wishing I could make it to San Francisco on short notice... I have to comment that Nancy and I have invited anonymous hordes to the house for parties, and sometimes they show up. So far it's always been a pleasant suprise and we've made new friends that way.
