Caught the latest Pixar movie. I won't bother deconstructing the CG - I'm sure there are people more expert than I floating around here. The story was cute but seemed somewhat derivative - not sure what it's derived from yet but it'll come to me. Overall, it wasn't Ratatouille or Nemo but still a fun movie.

*cough* Idiocracy *cough*... or so I've heard, I've actually seen neither yet.

It has certain elements in common with Idiocracy, but I don't think it would be fair to call it "derived" from it. Of course, I am incapable of rendering a completely objective opinion on it, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Hmmm, I'd put it a little closer to Ratatouille (which I loved) then Nemo (which was ok, imho). Loved the shout-outs to Apple in Wall-E...

Charlene and I caught this Thursday night. I'm with all of those people who said "if only it had all been like the first part of the movie". The second half was like some Disney VP said "wait, this is way too subtle for our audience, we need slapstick and goofy asylum escapees and a message!".
So I thought it was better than Cars, and totally watchable, I agree with the Nemo and Ratatouille comparisons, but it was no Incredibles...
