Cool! I've been musing for the last couple of years on some way to attach a generator to the gutter downspouts on houses - as part of a micro-generation system (solar panels + wind and water generators). I might actually get around to working on it now that I've got a dedicated work-room for such projects.

Interesting Gizmo Dan. I liked temperature indicating led feature as much as the lighting function.... now they need to look at "form" and make it in a non ugly version. personally I like the look of Victorian era copper with LED (yeah I know I'm not a big market segment there).
Shawn, I'm in the grid scale PV sector but I'm really fascinated with solar thermal using Stirling engines for micro power. Seriously considering tinkering with something on the farm. http://coolenergyinc.com/solar.html

Oooh! That looks fun. I'm trying to draw up plans for a workshop to replace the shed in the back yard, and I've been thinking living roof, but maybe it's to just go for hot water and power generation...
Although given our power bill versus our grocery bill, I think I'm probably better off with the living roof.
