Proggy Fonts aka Programming Fonts: After blowing a couple of hours finding that period I thought was a comma, I have found and installed "Proggy Clean w/ Slashed Zero and Bold Punctuation". The difference is subtle, and yet, remarkable. The difference between ; and : as well as , and . is quite clear.

More notes: You have to run fc-list
to find the name of the font after you unzip the TTF file and put it into /usr/share/fonts/truetype
and use it like xterm -fa PixelCarnageMonoTT
. And those are some darn SMALL fonts. What I got when I tried this the first time was some other font.. Still not sure which one, that gets autoselected by xterm when you use the -fa switch and it can't find the font specified. It still works better than the default font.

If those are too small, try Dina (http://www.donationcoder.com/Forums/bb/index.php?topic=7857.0) which, while still bitmapped, has a couple of larger font sizes available.
