This is probably my favorite personal birding photo.

It was taken while on safari in Tanzania back in 2004. I had spotted a vulture on a tree top and shot four frames of varying composition in about a 10-15 second time span. It wasn't until I looked at the images on the computer later that I saw the beautiful lovebird in the foreground (this image is highly cropped). The tiny bird was missing from the 4th image, probably not feeling comfort in the company of the vulture. Nature can be so fleeting.

I liken the image to a mild juxtaposition between beauty and evil.

That little one almost looks like a toy. Awesome picture.

Vultures are usually scavengers, so I'll bet that little one was never a target.
