It was a Flash thingie, press "Print", get an abbreviated print popup that only let me choose my physical printer. So I installed the cups-pdf package, PDF printing showed up as a physical printer, and used that.
Their security-guru-fu was no match for my Open Source chi.

Assuming this is a PDF you downloaded, twiddling the feature bits is not hard unless it is a properly encrypted and password protected PDF. You might also want to try some of the "lesser" PDF viewers, as they skip some of the "feature implementation" of the Adobe Reader. Evince worked on my last "protected" document.
