It's that day again. It seems to have become the starting line for a spending spree: Black Friday, Purple Thursday, Small Biz Saturday..
Thankgiving dates back to pagan fall harvest festivals, or lore of Puritanical Pilgrims and Native Americans or [insert modified theology or history reason here].
I've found it's a good day to simply be thankful. We should be thankful and grateful for what we -do- have and are more often. Attribute it to $diety or not, your choice. It's still a perspective correction we need more often in our lives.
Life is mostly good. With gratitude to all of you that are a part of it. --Meuon--

I'm currently sitting beside a stream in Sierra Meadows RV park, and starting to feel human again. On Monday night, late, we drove down to Fresno to take care of some family stuff for Charlene, and between Tuesday and Wednesday I was completely reminded why I normally avoid Target and Wal*Mart, and why I stay as far away from shopping as I possibly can from... well... about a week ago until January.
But the crisp foothills air, the trees turning color, the hiss and burble of the water falling over the low dam that forms this (in warmer months) swimming hole... Yeah, things are pretty good.
Even if this morning I was woken up by Charlene's DD brother whispering to get my attention in order to tell me that it was okay, he was going to let me sleep in.

It looks like the big spending spree will be a tire patch kit for a flat tire, and a battery for the backup genset. It's a beautiful day to work around the house.

After Thanksgiving, I think diety is more appropriate.

It was a beautiful day to work in the shop, here, but I forgot about the fact that it was Giant Spending
Orgy Day when I dropped by the hardware store. Between blocked aisles, busy employees, things sold out
and things stored in the wrong places, and of course endless checkout lines, a simple half-hour errand
took two. Made me wish I'd celebrated Buy Nothing Day properly.
