Anyone know how to change file associations in (X)Ubuntu/LibreOffice so when I double click on a .DOC embed I can save the file? Pr does anyone have a command line tool that'll extract all files embedded in a .DOC file (preferred)?

Which version of .doc? If it's the Office 2007 or later (technically should be .docx) then it's just Windows style ZIP in disguise, and I know there are Unix tools that handle that.
If you're trying to take apart one of the pre-Office 2007 binary .doc formats (which they changed at least three times I know of), I know there are tools but it's been so long since I dug for one, I have no idea which ones are still kicking around.

I saved as .odt from LibreOffice, and saw the attachments, but eventually got someone with Office on Windows (Office on Mac doesn't read the stupid things) to give me the files.
Of course the files are WSDL and look to be completely inconsistent, which is another issue I'm going to have to thrash someone with, but that's a start.
Now if I can just figure out how to set up file associations in Ubuntu so I can say "no, really, use Emacs for this crap" that'd be awesome, but I'm off to trying to figure out SOAP stuff now.
