We have our own minor neighborhood version of signage going on lately. At the bottom of our dead end, not one of the 14 houses on "the street," sits a house with a woman who is really into her yard, tho frankly it's not all that. She's posted many, many signs along her curb about staying off the flowers. At times there have been signs every foot and a half - very tacky signs.
So a neighbor put up a "have a blessed day" sign to sort of counter act this. It's up the street where the flower neighbor has never been sighted, so it's an inside-our-street only thing.
Then he took it one step farther and made a "okay to drive on curb" sign which now spends time in front of various yards as neighbors decide to place it where they will.
Never fails to get a smile. Best of all? The neighborhood sign creator is a very shy type with a quiet sense of humor that no one before knew about, so everyone has a new appreciation of him. Also, the flower lady's signs have dwindled to just one.
It's a happy street...
