Medical reports are claiming that the hyper-caffienated energy drink Monster Drink can jazz you up so much it could kill you. It is unclear if afficianados of such beverages consider that a bug or a feature.

Clearly Monster is trying to make the rush that Red Bull advertises that much more personal. Red Bull sponsored mountain biking scary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbF6ZZqVMyk

What amazes me is that there is apparently enough money in selling energy drinks that Red Bull can sponsor jet plane races and stratosphere jumps at many megabucks per.

What amazes me even more is that they [Red Bull] appear to be the sole sponsor of many of these sorts of events. It's like there's this thin niche of market that will, based on extreme professional sports, buy energy drinks and apparently nothing else.
Meanwhile football and baseball continue to rake in the extremely wide-ranging advertiser dollars.
