I meant to go follow up on that earlier today; I've had Amazon Prime for quite a while, I watch prices pretty closely, and I was pretty sure your reports from the wild were overblown. Glad to see the follow-up.

Yeah but check the comments. Once again that seems to be a difference between "shipped by Amazon" and "third party seller."
I'm not saying Amazon is above such games. I have no illusions about their morals. But for the things I buy regularly (media: books, DVDs, etc) the "street price" is pretty easy to establish and I haven't seen any signs that they're overcharging Prime members.
If anything I suspect they game regular customers by UNDERcharging - "Hey, we noticed you looked at this but didn't buy it, if we invisibly knock a couple of bucks off will that get you to buy it if we call it to your attention again?"
