Oh yeah, and in case you missed it: Obama administrations had restrictions on the NSA looking specifically for communications by U.S. citizens reversed in 2011.

Ed Felten points out that the NSA used to secretly intervene to improve the security of encryption, and promises to get into showing more ways that now they apparently are doing exactly the opposite.
