Life begins when you kill your TV set.
This month, Comcast has opened up most of the channels for people like us that get the basic service + 'net, so we've actually made some attempts to watch some normal TV. And stopped. The good news is in the crawl at the bottom of the screen, and we go online to find out more. No reason to listen to talking heads grinding inane topics. The shows.. get enough advertising we have forget what we were watching to begin with, so we just turn it off.
Once you get used to shows without the adverts in them, you can't go back. My favorite show lately was: Oddities ala Obscura Antiques. (we watched it via NetFlix)
But overall, not much out there worth watching. So we have mostly given up. Too much else to do in life. Relegating TV/Movies via streaming to actual focused restful activities, not a default.
I am working on re-building our music collection. I can listen to music and podcasts while doing other things.
