A little thank you to the trucker who put on his blinker and made the left lane slow down right before the speed trap we couldn't see.

Some of the best drivers out there are truckers. I've been in similar situations where truckers have obviously slowed the pack for trouble ahead. In my case it was cars on the side of the road.
Some of the worst drivers out there are truckers. I've seen trucks shifting lanes and tailgating as bad as anyone out there.
All that said, I work with truck engineering. Leave lots and lots of space between your rear bumper and the truck behind you. My Miata can stop faster than your car, my 1 ton van can not.
Travel safely, Joe

Yeah, I figure that someone who drives ten to fifty times the miles every year that I do probably has some practiced skills I lack.
CA 99 is 65-70 mph (55 for vehicles towing or trucks) from Fresno to Manteca, so normally I set the cruise control to 70. There were a bunch of construction zones, 55 MPH and double fine zones (but on December 23rd nobody working there). Truck in right lane turned on the blinker, I tapped the brakes to let him in, he didn't come over, I thought it was weird, but then noticed we were about to pass the cop parked under the 55 sign.
2 seconds of turn signal was a really nice gesture.
