I don't know why gun fans are so scared of licensing. We require licensing for cars, but if you kill someone with one and don't have a license it's just a "nominal fine" and a 15 day jail term: http://www.streetsblog.org/201...-driver-who-killed-bronx-senior/

I get that this story has nothing to do with guns. If you want to get away with murder or do the very minimum time for it just use a car to run over them. Still I got to ask, would it scare you if they wanted you to be licensed to write this blog?

Larry, yes, I'd be totally outraged, and I think this story is a perfect example of why licensing isn't really useful.
Of course I'm also well aware of the demographics of gun violence, and aware that as an upper middle class white male non gun-owner in a fairly well-to-do neighborhood, I'm about as unlikely to be the victim of gun violence as anyone from a European state with harsh gun restrictions.
