Assembled cat tree, need to come up with carpet for the shelves and a few coats of finish

After making the trunk look so natural, you made the shelves so squarish... I'm disappointed.

They've got elliptically rounded corners (except for the top one, which leads into a bridge). I'm running a compromise between "occupy as little space as possible" and "make it large enough that the cat is comfortable on it...
