Those forward thinking Canadians are considering dropping a bounty on Indian scalps. The Nova Scotia government has asked for confirmation from Ottawa that the 1756 proclamation by then governor William Lorence is no longer in effect.

If scalps are turned in prior to receiving confirmation from Ottawa will they still pay the bounty?

Whoopsie. Fixed.
(Given that I saw South Park last night I was hoping there'd be some sort of Canadian reference I could stuff in here, but no luck...)

You want a funny Canadian reference?
Yesterday I transcribed the cool new Molson Canadian rant commercial. It's a funny Canadian-nationalist rant by "Joe".

You might notice he politely says "Thank you" at the end. ;-)
Click the "I AM" graphic to see the QT4 movie.
The South Park movie rules! I remember when I saw it in the theater. An afternoon matinee. Only about 15 people in the theater. Most of the people weren't enjoying it like I was, I was laughing so hard I'm sure I was embarassing myself ;-).
The 2nd best thing about the experience, other than the movie itself, was watching the expression on this lady's face who had brought her pre-teen daughter, ... who understood a lot more jokes that mom hoped ;-)
Stan looking for the clitoris, Mr. Garrison's telling his students why he doesn't trust women (I won't spoil the joke for those who haven't seen the movie yet)... at one point this mom was shaking her head, her head in her hands, all resting on the top of the seat in front of her. "What have I gotten myself into?!" it looked like she must be saying. Really classic stuff. :-)

PS: It's pronounced Ottawa too, not Ottowa. I wondered if that might have been where the spelling mistake came from... that's a very common mispronounciation.

Yeah, I spelled it "Ottawa" then noticed that Den spelled it "Ottowa" so I changed mine. That'll teach me.

And to think, I used to listen to As It Happens regularly.
(Now I'm not in the car from 5 to 6...)
Jim, do you say "eh" a lot? Time to go fire up the Winders box and hear the QT4 version...
