A couple of people are having comments truncated. If you're one of those people, please email me a description of your browser environment. I've had no problems with Netscape 4.61, Lynx 2.8.1rel.2 or XEmacs20/w3-mode all under Debian 2.1 Linux. After I deliver some software mid-day I'll try to check via a Winders box.

I use to think the problem had to do with quotation marks, not the platform. After a test I found out I was "wrong". Done with IE 4.01, Java and JavaScript active, W95.

Larry, there's at least two places for the problems to occur. One is in the formatting engine, underscore quoting and the URL recognizer will occasionally cause issues. The other is in the insert to the database. I learned my lesson with my first content management system and now put everything in the database in as unchanged a format as I can manage, so if you can hit the "edit" tag and still get the full text back it's in the formatter. I'll continue digging.

BTW: note that *everyone* has the same problem: if I put in pseudo-html with a '& l t ;', when it comes back, it won't be escaped anymore... and when it goes *back in*, it will go in with the '<'... and come out active. Or eaten.
