Charlene mentioned wanting an outdoor bowl for trinkets by the swim spa. I had a chunk of 2 by Ipe scrap and a hankering to play with the Arbortech​​ cutter, which we've had for a while but haven't really used.

That is really nice looking!

It reminds me of the old amber colored, tempered glass, chonky ash trays. We've been seeking those out at yard sales, consignment, etc... for candles, wick trimmers, etc... They're worth a bit now...

It's interesting learning how to use the Arbortech MiniTurbo cutter, and it made me wonder again about alternatives to full-fledged lathes using cutters like routers and grinders...

Yes, I considered this. Charlene said "no", but we'll see the first time her baubles end up soaking in an insect breeder.

OTOH, you know how long it's been since we had rain here?
