the Apple curl security incident 12604. There's a command line option in curl meant to restrict queries to specific keychains. Apple broke it.

I am curious what specifically drove this decision. It just feels like something inside of the Apple eco-system
must have been breaking with the default behavior and this was their blunt work-around. As in, this feels less
overt evil and more desperate band-aiding.
