Spotify

In a recent episode of Switched on Pop, producer Reanna Cruz discussed that she kept a list independently of what she played for the year, and her "Spotify wrapped" did not correctly report what she listened to.

So, yeah, they're pushing you in directions that aren't true, but... Apparently they're also figuring out who's using Spotify for background music, and pushing in-house royalty-free music on listeners for that application, so that they don't have to pay for streams.

I think the end game here is to have AI generate the music.

The tune had been haunting London for weeks past. It was one of countless similar songs published for the benefit of the proles by a sub-section of the Music Department. The words of these songs were composed without any human intervention whatever on an instrument known as a versificator.

I think I'd prefer the AI music to the pop that I hate listening to while working. I like blue grass, blues, folk and funk while I work. Spotify tends to drag me back to classic rock and in particular Tom Petty. Why does Spotify play Tom Petty every 6th song? I used to like Tom Petty. Sometimes it just throws in profanity laden rap, which is very jarring while I'm trying to work. I feel like some sort of lab rat in a psychological warfare test.
