I am surprised to see such an elaborate bridge being built over such a minor highway, out in the middle of basically nowhere. If that's the way they're going about it, all along the line, it's no wonder that the project's budget keeps packing on more billions.

I think the big budget issues come from the stop start nature of the funding, but yeah: as we see all of the concrete being poured, there's a lot about this project that is huge.
