I tell ya, Netscape 6 may suck, but IE 5.5 sucks in different ways, especially concerning graphics. IE doesn't handle transparent PNG files, forcing me into the legal minefield of the GIF. IE doesn't really give me the bgcolor
I requested, just something kinda close. And IE keeps stealing my damned file associations back from the programs I've given them to.

I spent an hour at Kinko's this morning trying to get a background fill to match the shade of green in the logo on some business cards (doncha just love those surprise VC presentations...). I was using Microsoft Publisher and after five pages printed ont he dye sub printer and dicking with RGB values, I finally realized that Publisher was basically ignoring the blue component on screen and the printer wasn't doing much better. The MacGuy who was running to rent-a-computer department kept telling me to use Quark on the Mac but I didn't want to go through the learning curve - that'll teach me. The moral of the story - Bill Gates must be color blind - Microsoft can't match colors without Geranimals...

My ex-girlfriend Denise, who works in pre-press, refused to guarantee Publisher and Word files output to film. "Brain dead" was the politest thing she said about Publisher.
'Course, Denise is kinda geeky and hardcore about her colors. When we started dating, I asked her favorite color. "Pantone 231," was her reply. Have you ever seen the look on a florist's face when you ask for Pantone 231-colored roses?
