Hot Damn! Dave Winer is proud to have been listed as a Net Authority offender for violating the Net Authority guidelines. I'm going to have to work on this to try to get all 7 in one entry, but including all 5 types of porn would just be gratuitous.

That Net Authority site sure is charming, but I can't find a list of the actual offenders. Is it a big secret or something? Or does the navigation on this site just suck?

Just a picture of Mohammed fucking baby Jesus in the ass saying 'Damn Jews!'
would likely hit all seven at once.

Nope you'd have to have "Mohammed's black donkey fucking Jesus in the ass saying 'Damm Jews!" hmmm I wonder what kind indexing google will do with flutterby now??

I like the way winer's site now says "I got a notice that my site has been reported to The Net Authority for various violations of their guidelines. That's quite an honor, thank you. (Follow-up, over on Flutterby they think that The Net Authority is a joke.)"
THEY THINK it's a joke. What a maroon.

What's the problem?

Sarcasm tags, or something, Dave.
Let's see, if a satirical website is cited sarcastically and then the cite is derided sarcastically ... whoa, meta brain-freeze.

This is too confusing. I believed it was for real until the whois was done here. I never was sarcastic. It's not one of my things. Have you noticed that there's a lot of extra noise around these days? Maybe it's just me. Or maybe it's my flu has given me new clarity. Anyway case closed.

Yeah, I think people are too quick to assume stupidity when irony and sarcasm are much more appropriate interpretations. Anyway, Dave, although we sometimes get into Winer-bashing mode over here (although Todd thinks you and I get along like the romantic leads in an animated Disney movie...) If it's any consolation, I think your comments were completely within the bounds of reality.
Oh, and thanks to all who've been reporting me, here's the first violation notice I got.

Awww don't feel bad Dave. I understand using a phrase like "they think it's a joke" because you don't really know and the net is full of unverified info. I use phrases like "it seems to be true" all the time because I just don't know. Sometime I will use the <sarcasum>this statement is not true</sarcasum> tags to help people out. And yeah I sorta made a coment bout you & Dan likening to Buzz & Woody when that whole XML-RPC thing went about.

I'm not buying into the 'spoof' idea yet. First, this guy Rudis Muiznieks doesn't seem to have 'spoof' in him. Second, he is putting way too much time into this for a spoof. They have a freakin' contest to see who can report the most evil offenders! Winner gets a Bible on CD. *LOL* Third, he is issuing
fake press releases in a vain attempt to give his site credibility. This does not say
spoof to me, it says
egomaniac. Here's a quote:
"The website has already reported over 2 million visitors in just the first week of operation. Hopefully this is a sign that the Internet will finally take larger steps towards "cleaning up its act" in the near future."
His site was also 'hacked' (just like the big guys!) and 3 testimonials prove the site is a 'raving success.'
Scary, boys and girls...

You've gotta be kidding me. How anybody can read, say, this page and still take the site as anything but an obvious joke is beyond me.

hmmm....that page isn't working, nor is the rest of the site right now....
