California Supreme Court rules ban on topless dancers touching themselves is unconstitutional. Alas this does nothing to the "lewd and obscene" conduct rules.

Even more interesting was the banner ad from bayrecruiter.com:
"Overwhelmed with the wrong candidates? Getting too many unqualified candidates?"
Compared to a year ago when fogging a mirror was about the only requirement for a job, this is quite foreboding.

Yep. For a while I enjoyed the schadenfreude of watching the overpaid newly minted experts try to mimick the success of the technology companies through the acquisition of things, rather than traits, but the mood out here is starting to get scary. We've gone from an emotional space where people believed that everything was possible, to a space where everyone is hunkering down to survive, to find that stable thing, not innovate, just follow the lead of the behemoth companies.
I'm afraid of what that, coupled with the beliefs in ridiculous business-method and software patents rather than constant innovation, are going to bring to the valley in the next few years. I don't think it's going to be pretty.

A word of caution: forget buying real estate in the valley right now!
The intense growth of the market in the Bay Area caused alot of development to occur elsewhere: Atlanta, Boston, New York, etc. While those other areas have suffered from the fallout of the market, it's not as extreme as the Bay area.
