While topspin is trying to lure me back to Tennessee I get occasional reminders of why I live out here. I'm not sure I'd see this delivery van in the buckle of the bible belt.

I had cup of coffee with the hired consultant of the city investigating the idea of a technology incubator. The UTC part of it is good, as it may be part of UTC's engineering department. But if this guy is sample of what they have to bring to the table, stay in California. Or at least a place where people have a clue.

As soon as I mentioned that I thought this whole techno-chattanooga thing was to bail out the city fathers bad investments in technology he remembered he had to be elsewhere.

All the ranting on Chattanooga's technological progress has been done before, there's not much I can add to it. For an incubator to work, you've gotta stop tossing the eggs at any attempt to change the culture, and nurture them.
