Our favorite moral bully, John Ashcroft, is at it again. Pouting about the spanking he recently got from the Supreme Court, he's introducing yet another piece of legislation to ban fake images.

And apparently, if you're into child porn, all you need to do is get a job with the FBI:
Ashcroft said the legislation also would create an FBI database of pornographic images of real children, making it easier to prosecute those who have the pictures.

What pisses me off most is Ashcroft saying:
In a world in which virtual images are increasingly indistinguishable
from reality, prosecutors are now forced to prove that sexually
explicit images involving children were, in fact, produced through
the abuse of children, an extremely difficult task in today's
worldwide Internet child pornography market
Is this guy familiar with, perhaps, Section 2257 of Title 18 of the United States Code, which puts the burden of proof on the pornography producer already?
Should it disturb me that an Attorney General who claims to make "protecting the children" a priority is that ignorant of the law?
