[deep breath] I've made it known that I'm leaving my current employment. It's just verbal right now, details are yet to be resolved, I haven't signed papers on the "to" yet, but I wanted to make sure that there was enough time involved to leave everyone on solid footing, and that involves some leaps of faith. More details as I feel comfortable talking about them. And although it's an open secret to longtime readers, maybe I'll feel comfortable mentioning who I've actually been working for for the past year.

I didn't quite follow all that, but good luck from me as well.
As Shawn wanders off to find himself a new job. His notice, while still leaving bridges standing, is distinctly missing the hopeful tone and was not at all planned :-(

Damn. You were employed?
Ah - the last part of your comment reveals why it hasn't stuck in my mind over the past year.. No name to connect with. :)

Best of luck Dan ... Taking some time off for photography and/or other creative endeavors? If so, enjoy the time and have FUN. If not, I'm sure you'll line-up something new when you need too!

Good luck on yours.. I may be looking for something soon. Our wonderful city just announced "MetroNet - Bandwidth that means business" and has clearly targeted out core. I was going to do a little consulting for them, but when it went retail, It'd be like teaching Skip about the internet.. Oh. Dan and I already did that. :)
That idea of you working on something that the general public will probably not only think is KEWL, but actually BUY and USE and support you (and the company) is wonderful.
Best of luck to you and your endeavor.

So, meuon, the mayor needs to wire up his buildings, hires some croney from New Jersey who can do a sweetheart deal 'cause of $12M losses last year (which were conveniently blamed on the WTC attacks), and is funding the whole thing with taxpayer dollars? And manages to sell this boondoggle to his constituents?
All of a sudden $450k for a shack, with no land, seems like a bargain.

And to top it off.. his 'Property Management Company' is starting to realize we already wired his buildings.. fiber right down the spines, just like we showed them.
