I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but a while ago Julie mentioned Emily Strange, I don't think there's any story line, just art, but Emily is something of a more subtle Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

Hasn't she been around for a while? I have some clothing from the line... in fact I got my Emily sweatshirt in like... December? Hot Topic (http://www.hottopic.com) carries all that stuff, including the books and art.

Currently, Invader Zim rules. Get with the program. Or face extermination.

I think Emily's been around for a decade or so. I'll have to read up on Invader Zim.

I wish I could find Zim on video/dvd. I watched a few when it was on TV, but I kept seeing the same episodes over and over. <sigh...> One of the best cartoons I've seen in a long time - probably why it was cancelled :-/
Lots of fan sites out there, but none of them have anything really worthwhile. The lawyer armies have done their job of instilling fear into the fan webmasters.

Funny, just been having a discussion on another board about the awesomeness of Zim. We don't even get it on TV over here (and I do get Nickelodeon) :( So vive le P2P ...
www.wormbaby.com may be of use, but only at the weekends.
also http://www.ensho.net/gir/ has some top notch wallpapers etc if that floats your boat (I have GIR on my desktop at work) -- apparently someone inside Nickelodeon leaked artwork from the Character Bible.
"I told you you would forever rue the day you messed with ZIM! Well! Begin your rue-ing... I'll just sit here and... watch."

Awesome! Thanks, canis. I'd been to that Gir website before but I didn't know about WormBaby :-)

Well, I have teenagers. My daughter, in particular, is what I call a Gir Grrrl.
We have most of the episodes on video tape; I think she's missing two, maybe three. Until recently, she used the Sunday afternoon time slot to catch stray episodes.
Hey, if Nick has actually cancelled Zim, maybe Cartoon Network will pick up the flag? (I've heard a lot of rumors about cancellation/retooling/toning down, so I don't know what's real and what isn't.)
BTW, if you have a Hot Topics store in your mall, they carry Zim merchandise. I did a lot of Easter shopping there. LOL!

(who has daugher has over 23 MGs of Zim crap on the hard drive)

We don't get Hot Topic over here. I am undecided on whether this is a good thing or not. Anyway. A colleague of mine recently got back from a trip to the States, where (amongst other things) he picked up an Invader Zim T-shirt. Of course, he didn't bring one back for me.
Every now and then I remind him how much I hate him for that. It keeps him in line.
I WILL CRUSH HIM WITH AN IRON FIST!
ahem.
;P

Hot Topic (cute model on the front page ;-) is typically a regular shopping destination for me. Unfortunately, I have to worry about how to buy milk these days :-( So frivolous things like clothes must needs take a back seat for the time being.
