I'm not sure what Ruby is doing, but she keeps finding the cool links. Happen to need a small jet engine? You can order plans to build your own Gluhareff Pressure Jet Engine:
When Eugene M. Gluhareff examined the technical challenges of
personal flight from his perspective as a helicopter design
engineer, it quickly became obvious that the absence of a
suitable blade-tip powerplant was the missing ingredient. So
he designed his own powerplant specifically for this type of
application.
And if you're looking for ideas for the stylin' ride you're going to power with that engine, check out Luigi Colani's Virtual Design Museum.

As to Luigi's designs, one is listed as an "Aerodynamic Helicopter" Well, I should hope so!
I have seen his designs in the past, including in that grand old mag "Omni". My only question is , has any aeronautical engineer looked at these things? Does the 1000 person prop airliner make any sense as a flyable device?

I'm sure his stuff doesn't. His semi-trailer tractor has all sorts of obvious problems, starting with that silly-ass windshield wiper; all that glass and you're going to permanently obscure it with big-ass wiper blades and put a motor dead center in the field of view?
