Diane got a piercing. Which was the opportunity to go see her at that I missed. I've been getting pressure from various sides to wear some jewelry, in fact I've been hearing such things for many years now from various people, and I just can't bring myself to an earring or whatever. But she makes the navel piercing sound fun enough that that might be my answer.

Be unique..get pierced. Just like everyone else..
I'd have to say that if you don't have the calling.. it's not you.
I am fascinated with tattoo's.. but have never seen anything I want for 10+ years. At least with a piercing you can elect not to wear something, or change the jewelry.

You could always go for the All Pain - No Gain method.

Well, meuon, maybe it's common practice among people you know to get pierced, but it sure as heck ain't with the people I know and hang out with. I don't give a hoot who else does it, or why they do it: I did it for me, and for my own reasons. And in one sense, you're quite right: it's a calling.
I know exactly how unique I am, and don't need to prove it to anybody. :-) (Can you tell I'm feeling a little defensive tonight?)

It's funny how many people I run into, besides the visible piercings, have nipple rings, pierced navels (even Annie) and other piercings that you find out about as you get to know them better. I'm glad you understand the 'calling' reference. I'm sure if Dan decides to do it, it'll be for HIS reasons as well, and it will be well done. Diane, I KNOW you are unique just from your postings. There is a heck of a mind at work (and play) in you. And me.. nope.. no metal on me except for my glasses and fillings.
