For years, I've wanted a simple computer program to create non-vocal mindless
background music. My MadPlayer came today, and.. for the bucks.. it rocks. It breaks things into 6 'tracks'
and lets you play with them.. It's also a good FM radio. Plays MP3's..
plays MIDI.. Plays samples.. and Karaoke files (Bad Lyrics in Japanese).
It'll even distort voice/audio input.. or sample it and store it.
It's a cool toy..

Thanks for the great emdorsement of our product. Hopefully you have a chance to
upgrade to the new firmware realeases available online. They open up the musical
expression possibilites a great deal.

Dan, I'm starting to wonder about the readership of Flutterby. We've posted several times about products and ended up with a rep, and in this case the CEO? joining in. - Even if he (or his marketing dept) Googled links to MadPlayer, that is impressive. - And I've ran down the batteries twice - just letting it create music to crash by.. both the 'ambient' and 'new-age' settings make great chill music.

I thought for sure that people were just Googling on link:www.madplayer.com, but Flutterby doesn't show up in any of those results this morning. And it isn't in the first two pages of searching for "madplayer" either.
Maybe Daypop has different results? Or maybe these guys are just super solid geeks who are really interested in the customer experience and search the hell out of their mentions. In either case, I need to make these lower level pages more visually interesting so that we can lure them on to related pages and figure out more ways to make this more interactive.

If I were operating a website promoting something like Madplayer I think I would be paying very close attention to my referrer logs. I imagine their website got a good number of referrals from here. A spike in referrals from a source other than a search engine over a 48 hour period usually indicates some sort of a critique of the product.

For how much? Best Buy shows $29.00.. Target's site show $39.00.. for that kind of bucks.. sure.. it'll keep kids busy and off of my computer...
My Mad Player does a LOT of what it seems to do... but the DM2 has a better interface for live party stuff.

It was $35 at Target...so guess I'll hit Best Buy. I've dropped enough Bday hints that I should be receiving it soon <grin>. Original retail was $99

Topspin and I checked it out at Target. The DM2 is just a USB 'Keyboard' - Software runs on a Winders PC that does the work.

It's cold outside..so I upgraded the MadPlayer's software as suggested above. Wow. - The music-ality (word?) of what it creates is a lot better.

did you get to play with the dm2? Is it worth $29 for a play thing?

Nope.. all in boxes. Probably well worth it as a toy if you run Windows. It's not useful by itself.
