Great hike today, from the top of the coastal ridge out along Sky Trail, down Woodward Valley Trail to Sculptured Beach, then back along the surf line to the car. Lots of gorgeous wildflowers along the trail, some spectacular birds (although lots of fog got in the way of real viewing),
One of the things I love about the hiking group is the smart people. Here Dave, who just won an Emmy, shows tremendous common sense as... Oh, the heck with it. At least the guy knows what it takes to get the picture.
I'll dole the rest of the images out this week to try to make things more pretty.

Couldn't resist, Dan ... Circa 2001, I think. :^)

I can't believe that Dan still has that shirt. I saw him in it last around 1995.

No longer, alas the shirt is toast. In fact most of my T-shirt drawer now is Pixar shirts, some of which are getting old. I need to start a "T-shirts I have owned" page, with pictures and the stories told by each.

I'm not much of storyteller, but I do recall going to the Atlanta Comdex with Dan, Larry, meuon, and some others.... around 95/96. Dan had on that shirt, crudely cut-off shorts, sandals, and hair that was combed circa '93.
Dan began talking to the Martin Marietta guys about some sorta fighter/graphics simulator they had there. So, he's talking about jobs in graphics/rendering (imagine that) with these guys in suits and finally one asks, "Would you go out from work at lunch and smoke dope in the parking lot?" Dan kinda looks sheepish and grins. The guy quickly adds, "Otherwise, I'm not sure you'd fit in with the team we already have......"
As for shirts and stories, Mary Chapin Carpenter's shirt comes to mind.

Giggle. Yep, that's much the way I remember it too. Must a' been '94, 'cause I moved out here in July of '95.
And yep, the Mary Chapin Carpenter hits some real chords with me.
