I originally wrote up a few paragraphs of text in response, as I make my living in the above. But then I was told I had to jump through hoops and create an account after the fact, which felt pretty rude.

Dang, I would've liked to have read that.
Creating an account on the fly would have finished the posting and not lost anything, but you're right, I should put the login stuff on the comment entry. I've refrained from doing so because of some thoughts about how that influences people, but if I've lost paragraphs from someone...
