So, Diane, while you were at MIT did you score one of the t-shirts (Formerly a link to www.caltechvsmit.com/pranks.html which is now a coupon spammer)?

Unfortunately, we did not -- the prankers were in-and-out in relative hurries, for obvious reasons. Most of the MIT09ers who received them prominently crossed out the "not".
Although most of these pranks were somewhat tame and not terribly creative by historical standards, they were made a bit more delicious because they were (a) pulled on the "pre-frosh" weekend (when one assumes a significant minority of the attenders are also considering That Other Tech School in Pasadena), and (b) enacted on the opposite coast from the pranking school.
Not that I've heard anything at all about any retaliation planned for next weekend when CalTech is holding their admitted students weekend. Oh no. Nothing like that. Especially not since I live on the same coast. Nothing at all. Did someone say something? Oh look, there's a birdie!

This is almost as good as a classic Caltech prank from the 60s, I think. UCLA is in the Rose Bowl, and their side of the stadium is going to do a Card demo, with hundreds of people holding up colored cards to spell UCLA. A Caltech team intercepted the instruction sheets and substituted their own, and the happy crowd spelled out CALTECH on national TV.
