Meuon, this one's for you: SFGate talks to some "dirtsurfers", a sport which is slightly misnamed 'cause it looks like they all ride on the road, but it's basically two-wheeled downhill skateboarding.

Looks life fun... but its takeing me too long to heal nowadays. The website: DirtSurfer.com is kewl. Check out the sail. It belongs on the Playa. :)
Which reminds me.. I hit the Playa in 2003 (Burning Man) doing somewhere between 30 and 40mph being towed on a bungie by an 'art car' - They Playa is soft and forgiving compared to asphalt. I rolled.. Got up.. and got back on my longboard. Sore.. but hyped on adreneline enough to not feel it until the next day.
Good reasons to do high-speedish stuff on dirt/sand/beach/playa as opposed to asphalt.
