My move from Tennessee to Colorado looks like it'll decrease my liklihood of dying from Heart Disease! I sure with they used death rates rather than death counts. I can't meaningfully compare one state to another because the figures aren't normalized for population.

If you click on the column header you get percentages for that age range, but, yeah, because it's not normalized to population you can't tell if you're more likely to live longer by moving to another state.
I also wish "unintentional injury" were broken down a bit: Is that primarily automobile accidents? Falling in the shower? Deaths due to auto-erotic asphyxiation?

If you click on "unintentional injury" you'll see the breakdown. Auto-erotic asphyxiation was not listed as a cause in the 15-24 age group in PA. CA, however, may be a different story.

Poisoning and traffic appear to be my most likely causes of demise.

I have to say during my travels today the death rate due to 'auto-erotic asphyxiation', by age, did not come to mind. Thanks for enlightening me. :)
