A couple of bits worth reading:

A Salon review of Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie's work "Lost Girls", an opus that aims for "dignified pornography" (not erotica).
Columbine wrote Notes from the Great Cave (alt link if you have privileges), a long musing on computer games, in which a "must read" link was given to:
Tea Leaves: The Design of Everyday Games, which talks a lot about richness versus complexity in game design.

The Tea Leaves book clearly apes "The Design Of Everyday Things", which book I much preferred in its original title, "The Psychology of Everyday Things".
