Correlation, or causation. I suspect the former.

Since some of the previous studies were done in prisons, they showed causation fairly strongly. I actually haven't read that article thorougly enough to make a call yet.

Although I like the premise on an emotional level, I have to admit that the article has far too many suppositions and holes.
For example, the first one that caught my eye was the statement that, "A 10 percent increase in Net access yields about a 7.3 percent decrease in reported rapes" (emphasis mine). A reduction in reported rapes does not necessarily mean a reduction in rapes, and I can already hear my mother making the case that increased availability of porn fosters the "she asked for/wanted it" mentality - which could explain a reduction in reports.
