Flutterby™!: Login or Create User Account
Why you should create an account
Many web pages allow you to enter comments without creating an
account. We want you to create an account for a few reasons:
- This way, nobody else can impersonate you in conversations.
- We can let you edit your comments to correct mis-spellings and add
information (although others will still be able to see the history of
your comments, so don't think you're home free).
- We do
attempt a little social engineering, tracking your participation in
the community and restricting access to people who want to be a part
of it is easier if you have an account.
Regarding your email address:
Feel totally free to not give us your email address. If you enter
it, we'll safeguard it as best we can, and only use it in a few
situations:
- If you forget your password.
- If one of the people running the system notices something that
needs clarification from you. This can be anything from "Hey, can you
follow up on your comment on..." to "we noticed you discovered a
bug...".
- If you go to your User
Information screen and tell us it's okay to publish your email in
additional places, such as the NNTP syndication
feed.
- As a login to the news server, if you choose to use it.
- The default will alwys be to safeguard your information,
and you can always give it to us later if you decide to trust us with
it.
(Huh, after all that I can't come up with too many good ideas as to
why you would share your email address. No worries, your
call.)
You must have a user account
and be logged in to do continue. No data has been lost, if you create
an account here or successfully log-in you will continue your
action.
