Prounounced "aaaiiiieeee", as in the sound one makes while falling or otherwise getting injured, IE, Internet Explorer, is the Microsoft web browser for Windows and Macintosh. I seem to remember that they also had a version for Solaris at some point.
My personal experience is that it's ridden with security holes, lacks important browsing features (like the ability to open clicks in a new window in the background, and tabbed browsing), and is generally something to be avoided at all costs.
