"Anywhere else on the river this stretch would have a name..."

This is fairly continuous class II-III waves and rocks on the river right side of the large island after Double Suck down around the bend to Double Trouble. Raft lines are fairly straight forward, the one thing to watch out for is below the small set of rock outcroppings on the river right side there's small hole (Formerly called "Backender Hole", although I haven't seen anyone able to pull that move there in a couple of years) and eddy, with two pourover rocks below them.

You can go either side (it's kinda shallow on the right), or even through the center, but be aware of the submerged rock ("Kevin's Rock") just upstream of the rightmost one. Can be a nasty raft pin if you're not paying attention.

I love to hear from my readers, but I get a lot of mail. If you're writing to set up a rafting or other outdoor adventure trip in the southeast Tennessee area, contact the folks at OAR , my favorite outfitters.
