You're not alone in that feeling. The Erasmatron attempts to provide
control over a massively complicated engine, and it doesn't do that job
well enough. I am now working on Version 2, with many new features to make
the job easier. Also, there's a considerable amount of simplification --
outright elimination of features that require too much effort for too
little return. Don't give up on the Erasmatron yet; in six months or so the
new version might just be good enough to get you over the hump.

Most interesting concept. I suspect that you'll need a storyengine to
handle that task. Right up to that point, you've got something fairly
implementable, but the Mr. Atoz software is going to be complicated.
